Whilst being on the topic of lawsuits, is there anyone here who knows stuff about lawsuits? If so, please answer the following question:

Why do judges sometimes not allow parties to present certain evidence to the jury?
I saw a case a while back where a man, who was fleeing from the police, had an officer at pointblank before another officer jumped on him and arrested him. The party was not allowed to present the fact that he pointed a gun at the officer because 'he wouldn't have a chance'. Isn't that the whole point?

well, the defense must have the chance to see and analyze the evidence before it's allowed to be submitted during trial. you can't just surprise everyone with evidence, not sure if that's the case though.
